The Russian Ministry of Education and Science and the Nordic Council of Ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding
On 29 September 2011 the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and the Nordic Council of Ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in education and research.
The signing ceremony took place in St. Petersburg in the Baltic State Technical University “Voenmekh”. The memorandum was signed by Sergey Ivanets, Russian Deputy Minister of Education and Science, and by Tora Aasland, Norwegian Minister for Research and Higher Education on behalf of the Nordic Council of Ministers.

The signed document specifies priority areas for cooperation in education and science, and formulates common goals and modalities of multilateral cooperation in these areas. Programmes and projects will be implemented in collaboration with both public and private educational and research organisations.
The memorandum is a continuation of the multilateral cooperation that is based on the Memorandum between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Nordic Council of Ministers as of 25 August 1997.
